Many years ago I had a school teacher who had come from Scotland - as you notice my maiden name was Meiklejohn- at that time my brother and two cousins and myself were all in the one class- he started to talk about Scottish names and ask where our ancestors were from- we told him it was Caithness- He then told us Meiklejohn meant BIG JOHN. The teachers name was Robert Stewart- another good scottish name.hope this is of some help. Nola
