I've just posted a message about George Meikle and Marion Gibson of Dalmeny, West Lothian, who married in 1808. I've been able to trace my Meikle line from the Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia area back to George and Marion. My line was George Meikle/Thomas Meikle/Philip Meikle/Martha Meikle. I know that Philip and his brother John McGavin came to the US from Scotland in the 1860 time period. I've run into a dead end going back beyond George/Marion.

I've also located two other Meikle researchers who descended from George/Marion via another son, William. They are:

Beverley Hawkins - bjhawkins@powerup.com.au
Gary Woodforth - woodga@powerup.com.au

There is also a Meikle researcher in New Zealand (we haven't made any connection yet), and she is:

Barbara Morton - barbara.morton@xtra.co.nz

I can send you more info on the George/Marion descendants if you want. I'd appreciate anything you have.
