Can't help with photos or living kin, as it is in my search for the latter that I came across your message.

Walter married Louise Alberta BOULTER on 4 Oct 1904 in St George's Church, Montreal, at least according to a notice in the NY Times.
My interest is a RUNCIMAN connection.
Louise went on to marry Louis Spring RUNCIMAN, on the Isle of Wight, England in the Sep qtr of 1919.
Given that you have Walter living to 1947, I presume they divorced!
I made this connection via an Oct 1929 engagement notice also in The NY Times:
Miss Molly MEIGS, dtr of Mrs L Spring RUNCIMAN of London formerly of NY, to James Reid BALLANTYNE, son of the Hon C C BALLANTYNE of Montreal. It goes on to add that Miss MEIGS passed last winter in NY is a grddtr of the late Titus Benjamin Meigs of this city and a cousin of Robert and Alfred Shaw also of NY.
The marriage must have happened, probably in Canada as I've not yet found reference to it in England.
A Dec 1938 NY Passengers list shows Mary E F BALLANTYNE 28 b Yepper Lake, USA married, and Louise RUNCIMAN, 50, widowed, b Montreal, Canada in transit to Montreal, having sailed from Southampton, England.
