Hello Mary
Came across your post of Oct 17, 2202.Just a long shot but I thought I would give it a try.
My great grandmother Bridget Martin Meighan married Patrick Brady 17 Mar 1859 in South Shields England.Father of Bridget listed on the certified copy of an entry of marriage from the General Register Office was listed as Patrick Meighan.
The 1881 British Census lists the birthplace of Bridget as Northumberland.
Patrick and Bridget Brady emmigrated to the US about 1888-89 with their children John, Thomas, James, and my grandmother Alice after their older child Margarent Ann Brady married Alexander Craig in South Shields.
Patrick filed his intentions to become a US citizen in 1889 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
My thought is they may have had family or friends to lure or come to in Pennslyvania. His occupation was a Labourer and a furnaceman in a chemical factory.
Just wondering if my Bridget Meighan could be a sibling of your Margaret or Ann Meighan.Like I said a shot in the dark. Who Knows?
