Hello fellow Meier time travelers. My name is Amanda Meier Snyder. My great grandfather is JOHN FREDERICK MEIER he was born on 7 Aug 1899 in Russia. According to his obituary, his father, step-mother, brother and sister all died in Russia during the Bolshevik revolution. He was adopted by a Conrad EHRLICH and stayed in Russia until he was sixteen. He then moved to SHATTUCK, ELLIS CO., OKLAHOMA to live with a cousin, FRED MEIER in 1910 in ELLIS COUNTY OKLAHOMA. I have the 1910 US Census where it lists JOHN FREDERICK MEIER as a cousin living with FRED MEIER in 1910. In 1913, he married KATHERINE ELIZABETH KELLN and moved to Lipscomb County, Texas. He died on 20 Mar 1939 in Lipscomb County, Texas. I have no information on my MEIER branch at all except the names of JOHN FREDERICK's parents and they are: JOHN FREDERICK MEIER and EVA MARGARET (? I don't know her maiden name). What I would really like to find out is if there are any descendents of FRED MEIER on the 1910 census that might have some information on the cousin that lived there. The children of FRED MEIER and ELIZABETH MEIER are:
1. Fred F. age 20
2. Alex age 18
3. Molly age 16
4. Jacob age 14
5. Herman? age 12
6. Olenda age 10
7. Allen? or Alvin age 8
8. Lilly? age 6
9. Ophelia? age 3
Then listed is JOHN F, cousin, age 21.
