My Greatgrandfather was Frederick C. Mehl, the youngest brother of the George Mehl who died at Camp Ford in Tyler, Texas. However, I do not believe that this George is the one you are descended from. There were two George Mehls in that part of southeastern Ohio at the same time. And to complicate things, they each had a brother named Andrew. Those two Andrews, born fairly close in time, have also caused a lot of problems for people researching this line.
Our common ancestor is Johannes George Mehl (b. Jan 3, 1742/43 in Imbsheim, Alsace, France, d. Dec. 31, 1808 in France. He married Anna Barbara Klein (b. Oct. 15, 1742 in Bosselshausen, Alsace, France).
