hello barbara, this is my 3rd letter in 3 days to get in touch with you.my beloved server, aol cannot seem to hold onto corespondance,so we begin again.i do not know what mehigan line i am from.my family resided in the donnybrook section of douglas,co.cork when they left ireland in1926-1927.you have pointed toward a family secret when you made note of the ladies from the castle grounds spelled their names as mehigan.i have found 3 men from the same place and time, only they spelled theirs as mehegan, strange???it would be interesting to know how our good name got spelled 20 different ways.i know that my family used the silent h ,back in the old country,so we were called meighans.i would love to know if any one else could add to the history of our family names.slainte, jim mehigan
