According to Donna Wilson Craven, Mary Elizabeth MEHARD WILSON had two brothers, both Presbyterian ministers. William MEHARD, who was married to Martha NEAL, was on the faculty of Westminster College. Thomas is buried at Neshannock UP Church in Lawrence County PA. Donna Wilson Craven is a direct descendent of Mary Elizabeth MEHARD WILSON, so do keep trying to contact her. My only connection is that William MEHARD, D.D. performed the marriage for my gggrandparents (Margaret (Maggie) PARKER and William LOCKHART) in Eastbrook, PA on 28 November 1866 and was evidently their pastor for some time. In the 1970 History of East Brook United Presbyterian Church, Thomas MEHARD is listed as the first pastor of the church, serving from 1841-1845 and W.A. MEHARD is listed as serving from 1852-1898. When the church was first organized in 1840, it was an Associate Reformed Church. The history also says: "Organized early in the history of the church and in the face of bitter opposition, the Sunday Church School has played a very vital part in our heritage. During his 47-year ministry here. Dr. W.A. Mehard not only began the Sunday Church School but also organized the Young People's Society." It sounds like he was a pretty forward-looking pastor for the times. I am afraid this is all I know about the MEHARDS.But I will put a note about your interest in my file, in case I run across Mehard material while researching the LOCKHARTS and EastBrook U.P. Church.
