Deborah, thanks for entering the dialogue re"Mefford/Rush"
My research notes say that Joseph Mefford, b 1792 was the son of Philip Mefford and Catherine Trout, because Andrew Mefford, who married Elizabeth Huling, did not tie the knot until 1797, making it a little embarrasing for Andrew and Elizabeth to be the parents, but, you never know!
Now Margaret Rush was born 25 June 1795 (according to Alice Fobister research), dau of Patrick Rush and ??? Someone has alluded to his wife being a "Miracle/Mericle" whatever, I have never found a decent lead.
My interest is that my Philip Rush (b 1824 Ky) was the son of James W. Rush (supposed son of Patrick) who married Elizabeth Mefford (dau of Philip and Catherine Trout).
Hope other Meffords and Rush researchers will join in, we need to hash out these lines.
