Looking for information on Frances Meese and her family. I have seen reference to Frances Meese being married to a Rev. John William Waugh born in Scotland or England around 1630 and settled in VA. This Rev John Waugh is suppose to be my 9th g.grandfather. Providing I have the right Rev. John Waugh. She was born in the early 1600's and died before 1674, VA. Frances is listed as being the mother of several children. One of them is John Waugh Jr, born 1661 and died 1716. I come off of this line. Need to know if she is the mother of John Waugh Jr. Her parents are listed as Col. Henry Meese and Mary ?. Native American ancestry is through her mothers side. 2. Her grand parents are listed as Wahanaganoche(Cheif of the Potawomeke Tribe) and ?. 3. Her g.grandparents are listed as I-Oppassus and Paupauwiske. 4. Her g.g.grandparents are listed as Running Stream and Morning Flower. 5. Her g.g.g.grandparents are lsited as Morning Ripple and ?. Does any one have any information about them. I do know that Frances is listed as Native American. Her grandfather Wahanagonoche is listed as the nephew of Amonute Mataoke also know as Pocahontas. If anyone can help me out please email me at
