I have just started working on the Meers side of my family tree. My grandmother, Bertha Meers Melton (bd Jan. 22, 1899, Llano, TX, died Jan. 5, 1979 Brownwood, TX) she was the only child of James Fields Meers (bd October 6, 1870, Williams Co., TX, died unknown) and Emma Mae Lockhart. James Fields was the son of Jeremiah Fields Meers and Susanna Willis. I have a copy of a portrait of J.F. and Susanna Meers. Unsure of what year. Would like to hear more info from that side of the family.
