Hi, Betty, The store was once owned by N L Barlow and George Thomas Meech under the name of N L Barlow and Company. Barlow wanted out and George bought him out and in 1871 went into partnership with Orrin E Stoddard (an old school chum and Army buddy from the Civil War). The store then became Meech and Stoddard. Even though Stoddard retired in 1903, the store still retained that name. In 1906, George gave the store to his two sons, George and Harold, and then it was incorporated. If you have any pictures of this store or the owners, I would be very interested in obtaining them. Thanks, Jeannette (Meech) Maloney Notify Administrator about this message?
