MARTHA MEDLOCK, b. Ky abt 1880 m. NINIAN ULYSSES BOND, dau. of JOHN & SUSAN?
I believe that MARTHA MEDLOCK may be the daughter of JOHN & SUSAN (JOHNSTON-JOHNSON) METLOCK.
From website: http://www.stpete.org/Pennsylvania.htmhttp://www.stpete.org/Pennsylvania.htm
N. U. (Ninian Ulysses) Bond was a teacher who later earned a law degree from the University of Michigan. After graduating, Bond entered the lumber business. During winter visits to St. Petersburg, Bond acquired valuable pieces of property including the Pennsylvania Hotel, the Sears-Roebuck Store Building and the Wilson-Chase department store building.
Bond and his wife Martha Medlock of Kentucky would finally move to St. Petersburg on a permanent basis in 1940.At one point the Bonds owned and operated numerous hotels in St. Petersburg including the Pennsylvania Hotel, Ponce de Leon Hotel, the Bond Hotel, Colonial Hotel and The Old Bond Hotel now St. Anthony's Friary.

Mar 17, 1999NINIAN U. BOND, JR.Obituary
Ninian U. "Nin" Bond Jr., whose family operated hotels in downtown St. Petersburg since the early 1930s, has died at age 79.
One of the "Bond boys" who played management roles in various hotels over the years, Mr. Bond died Monday (March 15, 1999) at St. Anthony's Hospital. He had a stroke at his home, said his daughter, Cary Bond Thomas.
Until he was stricken, he had enjoyed good health, she said.
An avid sailor, he was scheduled to leave next Tuesday on a sailing trip to the Bahamas. On April 7, he and his wife of 57 years, Cary, were due to begin a 10-day trip to Europe.
"They were go, go, go," his daughter said Tuesday. "They were very active. Daddy has never been ill. It was just such shock to us."
With brothers William "Bill" Bond Sr. and Samuel F. "Sam" Bond, Nin Bond was a member of a family woven into St. Petersburg's social and civic life.
It traces its hotel business back to the 1930s with the purchase of the Pennsylvania Hotel. The family also owned the Ponce de Leon, Colonial and Bond hotels.
"A lot of people are going to miss him," said Paul H. Roney, a senior circuit judge for the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and a friend since high school. "He had a lot of friends, a whole lot of golf-playing buddies. He was an extraordinarily fine citizen."
Nin Bond's family history reaches back to a Kentucky state senator, Ninian Ulysses Bond Sr., who worked in the lumber business before coming here as a tourist in the winter of 1921 from Cincinnati with his wife, Martha, the three boys and a cow.
On his first day in the city, Nin Bond's father found a man to look after his cow. He later bought the man's orange grove in the area of present-day Allendale, near 34th Avenue N and Dr. M.L. King (Ninth) Street.
While their father was buying land later occupied by the old Sears Building and the Wilson-Chase Department Store, Nin Bond and his brothers grew up in the family home, a structure noted for a stone arch gateway, at 820 34th Ave. N. In 1992 it was demolished when Kash n' Karry built an expanded supermarket.
Mr. Bond, a Cincinnati native, was a graduate of Culver Military Academy in Indiana and attended Rollins College at Winter Park. A flying enthusiast since childhood, he served in the Army Air Forces in India during World War II.
He was a past president of the Squires Club, St. Petersburg and Pinellas County Crippled Children's Hospital Society and St. Petersburg Hotel Association. He was a past chairman of the board of trustees of the YWCA and headed its building program. A founding member of the Bath Club on Redington Beach, he also belonged to the Quarterback Club, Pollywogs, Phi Delta Theta fraternity, the Suncoasters, Feather Sound Country Club and St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
Survivors in addition to his wife, daughter and two brothers include two other daughters, Judy Bond Codding, Los Angeles, and Barbara Bond Madison, Clemson, S.C.; seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at John S. Rhodes, East Chapel, 635 Fourth St. N. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 701 Beach Drive NE, where he had been a chairman of the board of deacons. Burial will be at Royal Palm Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the church or the St. Petersburg Museum of History, 335 Second Ave. NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
