I visited Manchester England and visited the welcome center. I asked the attendant for history on the River Medlock and Medlock Road. He contacted the local historian and I talked to him. The word Medlock is a Saxon word that means "River through a meadow". A long time ago the Medlock river flowed through a meadow. We stayed at a hotel that was close to the river and I have pictures standing by the Medlock Road street sign.
