Thank you for the data on James MEDLAND of Corwall. His son, William, does sound a lot like my g-grandfather. Thing is, my William MEDLAND came to Pennsylvania, married Annie BRANCH, and had first child in May of 1873. If it is the same man, he had a busy time between 1871 and mid-1872. Still, your info provides me a time frame to look at closely, for emigrant and ship passenger lists. Also, I might seek a BRANCH family in close proximity to the MEDLANDs in Cornwall. Annie was born in England, but we do not know if they married there. Thanks again. Larry keithclan.com
