Thanks Bonnie, what pity. If no probated references are quoted, it looks like this will has not existed for some time. Microfilm of these ancient wills are available for research at PRO London, and could thereby have clear up the mystery. They are photocopies from the original, thereby diffictult to read old English handwriting, sometimes in Latin and of dubious clarity.

There is a small write up on the the Cardinal in the 'Southwalk Cathedral' 1905 and Thomas Costain's great history, Vol 4 'The Last Plantagenets' has the bitter clash between John of Gaunt and the Fitzallens of Arundell.
