Hello Jim,
I understand that Egidius = Giles, old English or Latin equivalent.
My notes upto 1400 are summarised below with references.I have more on the Revell connections to the Honour of Peveril in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire notes if you want it, but that is appreciably later.

There are several references in the period 1433 to 1472 to a William Revell who married Maud a daughter of Nicholas Stanlake, in connection with the Manors of Thorpe, Hinton Pipard (Henton Pippard), and Shaw (Schawe), [14-16] all on the Berkshire–Surrey border ca 20 miles from Thatacham.Maud’s ancestry is well documented, her grandmother was Elizabeth Stanlake née Thorpe and great grandfather was John Thorpe, but William’s is not.He is mentioned, along with Maud, in Chancery Records from as early as 1433 suggesting that he was born not later than ca 1413.
