It's possible that Alice's father was Sir John Fastolf's cousin, John Fastolf of Oulton (though there may have been other Hugh and John Fastolfs). First from the Patent rolls: July 1, 1434 Licence to grant manor of Castle Combe Wilts to Sir John Fastolf, John Fastolf of Oulton, esq., Edmund Wichyngham, Nicholad Mullyneus, John Wynter and High Spencer, for the life of John Fastolf, knight, remainder to Milicent his wife. This suggests that they might have been related. Then from Chancery rolls: 1380 Petitioners: Hugh Fastolf and John Fastolf his brother. Addressees: King and council. Places mentioned: Barcelona, [Spain]; Aragon [Spain]. Other people mentioned: Raymond (Ramón) Sorbere, ship's master; [Peter IV], King of Aragon. Nature of request: Hugh Fastolf and his brother John state that Hugh is bound in Chancery to a recognisance of 600 marks for a ship of Barcelona, and for the goods and merchandise contained in that ship, on condition that if the ship's master and the merchants who own the goods and merchandise are not found to be the king's enemies, the recognisance would be void. Hugh was a merchant of Great Yarmouth, active in town government in the 1360s and 1370s. According to the Dictionary of National Biography, his father was Alexander Fastolf, probably also a merchant, active in town government in the 1320s and 1330s. These are from the inquisitions post mortem, about Hugh Fastolf and his son John, and their land in Cowhaw (also called Cow Hall) in Nacton and elsewhere. 5 Henry V (1427) Inq. pm No. 49 - Hugo Fastolf miles (knight) in Norfolk: Tonshale, Rowholme in Whetacre, Shelandhall in Naketon, Castro de Dover4, Naketon, Levyngton, Stratton, Boklisham, Holbroke, Tatingeston, Brantham, messuag. vocat Fastolfes, Kerkele3 messuage, Pakefeld in Hundred of Nuttford, Langheston, Brusthall, Lancaster ducat membr.
