Descendants of Charles Henry Meddock,
1. CHARLES HENRY1 MEDDOCK, was born November 08, 1842 in BRADFORD, PENNSYLVANIA, and died July 21, 1922 in Aeneas Valley, Okanogan County, Washington. He married FRANCES REYNOLDS, *1 October 24, 1867 in FAIRBAULT, MINNISOTA, daughter of UNKNOWN REYNOLDS and UNKNOWN REYNOLDS.

Notes for FRANCES REYNOLDS, *1:
Frances Reynolds was born in New Jersey. Her father was born in England and her mother was born in New York State. Frances married a man whose last name was Ferris. They had one son, Edgar Wesley Ferris about 1860. After her husband died, she married Charles Meddock on October 24, 1867 in Fairbault, Minnesota. Frances and Charles had three children, Charles, Anna, and Robert.
It is more probable that her husband, Charles, died about 1912 instead of 1922, as stated on the information sheet filled out by their son, Robert. Olive said that her grandfather died shortly before she was born.
Don Rider, grandson of Wesley Ferris, said that his grandfather, Charles was buried under a tree in Aenias Valley.
After Ida (Cady) Meddock died, Frances, moved in with her son, Rob, and cared for Del, Olive, and Clair. The last few years of Frances' life was spent in bed in the back bedroom. She is buried in the Republic cemetery.

1920 CENSUS FOR FERRY COUNTY, LISTS HER SON, EDGAR & HIS FAMILY, LISTS HIS MOTHER'S BIRTHPLACE AS NEW JERSEY.
INFORMATION FROM ROBERT MEDDOCK SAID HIS MOTHER WAS BORN IN BURTON FALLS, NEW YORK.

Frances married Charles Meddock on October 24, 1867 in Fairbault, Minnesota. Frances and Charles had three children, Charles, Anna, and Robert.

Charles was the oldest son of Charles and Francis Meddock. He worked on the ranch with his father and moved with the family to Washington State. Charles never married. Charles had his own cabin on Mount Ann in Aenias Valley between Republic and Tonasket, located in Okanogan County. Charlie was eight years older than Robert. They were always close and never lived far apart. When Charlie and Rob drove the horses to Quincy overland, Charlie drove the Cook wagon.

Anna stayed in Minnesota when her parents and two brothers moved to Washington State.
LISTED IN 1880 CENSUS OF FARIBAULT COUNTY, WELLS, MINNISOTA. This was the last contact the family had with Anna.

Ida was the fourth child of the six Cady children. Julia was her youngest sister.

IDA DIED WHILE SHE WAS PREGNANT WITH HER 4TH CHILD. OLIVE WAS THREE YEARS OLD.
IDA WAS CLIMBING UP A LADDER INTO A BARN LOFT TO GET EGGS FROM CHICKEN'S NESTS. SHE DIED FROM THE FALL.

Death Certificate # 17276 death occurred at 11:30pm on 10/09/1951 at Cascadian Hospital, Leavenworth, Washington.
Olive was the second child born to Robert and Ida Meddock. She had two brothers, Delbert and Clair. Ida was pregnant with her fourth child in 1915 when she died after a fall from a ladder going to the barn loft. She had climbed up there to collect chicken eggs. Olive was only three years old when her mother died and she had no memory of her.
Olive's grandmother, Francis Reynolds Meddock lived with her son and his family in Aenias Valley between Republic and Tonasket. She was a stern lady and very Strick.
Other than her grandmother, Olive was raised in a household of men throughout her grade school years.. Her father's brother, Charles Meddock lived beyond their ranch a couple miles (on Mount Ann.
iii. CLAIR F. MEDDOCK, b. April 10, 1914, REPUBLIC, WASHINGTON; d. December 21, 1940, Spokane, Washington, Edge Cliff Sanitarium.

Clair never married. He helped his father, and Del, on the ranch with the horses. Clair worked on the construction of Coulee Dam on the Columbia River. Clair was working at a C.C.C. camp in Western Washington, building roads during the depression. The weather was rainy and wet. Clair contacted Pneumonia, which went into tuberculosis. He entered the Edgecliff Sanitarium in Spokane, Washington on October 21, 1939. He remained in the hospital until his death on December 21, 1940 at 8:10pm. Cause of death is listed as Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
Death Record # 018, Washington State, Spokane, County. He was 26 yrs, 8 mo, 11 days old, when he died. Clair is buried in the Republic Cemetery, Block 21, lot 2.
