William Plaisted Medd (and Cook) follow up

I now know that William Plaisted Medd who sailed with Cook was born in 1758 in Stretton Parva, Leicestershire, the only child of George and Sarah (nee Plaisted) Medd. About 1765 the family moved to Malton in the North Riding of Yorkshire (possibly where George hailed from). Sarah died in 1785. After that nothing. William did nothing else in the Navy to my knowledge (so Suzanna he is not the person who sailed with Nelson). I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows about a William Medd in Malton in the late eighteenth century. Thanks.
