My grandfather, Claude Nicholas Medd, was born in Scarborough, England around 1890. He married Gertrude Alice Elliott in 1914 and they lived in South Elmsall, West Yorkshire, England where he was a green grocer. They had a daughter (my mother), Doris Edith Elliott Medd - born 01-22-1915. Claude Nicholas Medd is believed to have died in France during World War I while serving in the British Army.

His widow, Gertrude, later married William Whitehouse and they emigrated with Doris to Fernie, British Columbia, Canada where they had two children before Gertrude died in 1924.

This is all the information I have on my grandfather, Claude Nicholas Medd, and would appreciate hearing from anyone with more information.

Jean Craig
