Merry Anne,
In your message about John Meason/Mason born in 1796 in Fayette County, you mention that he is buried in Fairfield Co., PA, in Hooker Cemetery. There is NO Fairfield County, in Pennsylvania. I believe that you must mean Fairfield County, Ohio, where there IS a Hooker-Wells Cemetery ini Greenfield Township.
Can you share the exact spelling of "Mason" on the cemetery markers? If it is actually "Meason", then I don't believe that he is of any connection to the John Mason baptized in 1796 in German Township, Fayette Count, PA, son of George and Elizabeth (Lawrence) Mason. Since this "John Mason" does not apparently appear in the 1800 and 1810 census of George Mason's family, I had assumed that he died prior to 1800. As you probably know there was a family in Fayette County, PA, that went by the "Meason" spelling (totally unrelated to the George Mason family), and probably did not use the "Mason" spelling, but I'm not for certain that they did not use the "Mason" spelling.
Jim
