Hi Bridie:
I am writing from New Jersey, USA.Thanks for responding to my message on genforum.
Have you traced you husband's ancestry? The name Mearns appears in my husband's tree and we are trying to find someone who might be connected. What we do know is Sylvester Mearns married Anne Fitzgerald (we think in county Kildare) in the early 1840's.They had two children that we know of...a daughter Mary, born in 1846 and a son who became a priest.
Does any of this sound familiar?
On a more personal note..we know several families in Belfast through our association with Project Children.Do you know anyone with these surnames:McNulty, Fitzsimmons, McCabe, or Mallon?
I tried to respond to your e-mail address but was unsuccessful.
Karen
