Seeking a Stephen Meany, b 1837 in Famoy, Cork, Ireland, married MargaretAnnEnglish 27 Ma 1861 in Saginaw, Michigan, died gold mining on the Skagit River in Washington State in 1880. He had a brother named Edmond who died about 1862 in Idaho. Were your Meanys from Famoy, Cork? The father of Edmond and Stephen was a school teacher near Cork, who had 6 sons, "all of whom ran away to sea." Could the families connect?
