I am a descendent of the pottery family, Meakin. My great grandfather was Thomas William Meakin, born Staffs 1880? died South Wales 1931. He married Laura Louise Lytton and I have complete knowledge of the family from there on. However I don't know about his family. The story goes that he was in Oxford and decided he wanted to study agricuture instead of going into the family pottery business and was cut off completely by his father. He became head gardener to Lord Swansea and owned a farm and shop in South Wales. His mother attended his funeral and he had a sister in Canada with whom the family kept in touch. I would like to know more about his ancestors and can give information about this branch of the family.
