R. W. MEADOWS of Rector Is Dead
R. W. MEADOWS, age 65, of Rector, a brother of G. W. MEADOWS, died Monday morning while visiting a daughter in Fort Worth. He was found dead by family members early in the morning. Burial was at Little Elm Tuesday afternoon with funeral services conducted by Rev. ROBERTSON of Prosper and Rev. SMITH of McKinney, both Baptist ministers. Meadows is survived by the following children, CLARENCE and C. B. MEADOWS at home, R. L. MEADOWS of Rector, Mrs. OMA MOHAN of Dallas, Mesdames PAULINE AKEMAN and O. C. JENNINGS of Winters, Mrs. MATTIE MCCLENDON of Frisco, and Mrs. DUDE HIGGINS of Fort Worth. His wife, who was Miss LEANNA SPARKS of this county, died six years ago and a son, VIRGIL SPARKS died while in training in San Antonio just at the close of World War. Besides G. W. MEADOWS of Denton, another brother, T. J. MEADOWS of Lake Dallas, and two sisters, Mrs. BETTIE FERGUSON of Aubrey and Mrs. G. B. JENNINGS of Hebron, also survive. Meadows was born in Tennessee near Nashville, and had lived in Texas about 50 years, most of the time in the Rector community. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
