I'm looking for information on my great-grandfather- Micajah Meadows- aka Mike Cage- Dob 1812 Dod 1872 in Greene Co., Ms. Family history states that he had eight Children by his first wife and eight by Mary Jane Hamm- his second wife. My grandfather-Haywood Meadows(dob 1856 dod 1928 Greene co., Ms.) was in the second set- others were Jack (Andrew Jackson), Steven,John Sherman, Henry & Nancy. Haywood had eight children by his first wife and eight by my grandmother- Spicey Walley (dob 1886 dom 1904- he was 49 and she was 19). My father John Alexander Meadows was born in the second set-1913. I was able to find Haywood and first wife(she died in 1892 shortly after the birth of twins- Zack and Ander) in the 1880 census and found him in the 1900 census in Greene county, Ms. In one of the census it showed father's ( Mike Cage) place of birth as Florida. In 1812, South Alabama and most of south Ms. was in Spanish West Florida, so Mike could have been born in present day Fl., Ms. or Al. I haven't been able to find him in any of the census. I saw a photo of him at my aunt Minnie's(dob 1879) home 50 years ago with two son from his first marriage. I think this family was in the witness protection program because I haven't been able to find anything before 1880. can anyone help? Notify Administrator about this message?
