Brian, Our gggrandfather William was a William Bris or Brown Meadows, married to one Margaret Ann King (stepdaughter to a Shanon). Our William was born 10-9-1824 and died 10-26-1900. He was in the 10th Ky. infantry regiment in the Civil war, fought in several battles and suffered disabilities due to his time in service, applied for pension. He lived once in Marion Co. Ky. after discharge from service, then moved to Horse Cave Ky. and later after a difficulty, went to Monroe. He and Margaret had 12 children one of them being our ggrandfather John Thomas. William was the son of one Samuel Mosses? Meadows who was married to one Barbara C. Adams. I have no birth, marriage, or death dates for either of these but do have a list of 5 children and their spouses.(including of course Willie B.) Tom's oldest son Edward Harrison Meadows was my grandfather. I have all this info courtesy of my brother, Larry, who got it from a distant cousin. I think he said that some of it was hand copied from a family bible or journal, some things, like the letters applying for pension are photo-copies, and there are some photographs of William and Tomand children, etc. I am currently trying to find more about Samuel M. I figure if William was born in 1824 then Samuel must have been born prior to 1810, and no further back than probably 1750. Maybe he is in Virginia records? I haven't managed to make a connection with any one posted on boards yet, though there are several 'Samuels' out there. I am concerned about the second name too, seems maybe it was supposed to be Moses or Moss ? Anyway, hope this helps, and please get in touch if you would like to have copies of anything, or if , by chance, you have more than I do about Samuel and on back.cousin Kat :)
