Mark, I can only offer postive prove on my Meadors/Meadows to my 3rd great grandfather who along with his brothers moved to Crawford Co. Ark. in about 1848-9. They are found on the 1850 census. I will try and make this short because they lived for a short while in other States after they left Whitley Co. Ky. My 2nd and 1st great grandfathers are buried in Crawford Co. Ark. My grandmother and my mother were born in Crawford Co. Ark. before moving to Eastern Okla. in 1910. I have found a lot of the Meadors/Meadows on census of different times and different States, as well as a "Will" of Jason Meadors/Meadows that has my 4th great grandfathers name listedI have been tracing this family for many years and there are some that are difficult to palce in the right family. There is a good book that is out of print that has a lot of references documented so one might search for their selves. I have alot of information that over the years that I have recieved from many different people who have been tracing this family for many years. My line is from Thomas Sr.Meads/Meadors whose name is found in records in Jamestown Colony; in 1636.---traced down to Jason Meadors B: abt. 1704-7 Va.his "Will" March 3 1774 in Anson N.C. his son Thomas, his son John, his son William Jones, his son Archibald his son David C. hei daughter Ethel Meadors.
I think you have a good idea, but a big, big job to short through all the Meadors/Meadows lives as well as all the stories that goes with all family searches.Helen Mills
