Hi Melba:
According to Joseph Maddox's book, Wilkinson County Historical Collections, quote: "There was a Joel Meador listed in the 1820 census who died that year and left a will. His wife's name was Elifair". I don't have the will, but it apparently exists. Joseph Maddox did not list any children. I had an e-mail a few weeks ago from Dawn Driskell inquiring about the marriage listing of Mrs. Allie Meadows to Jacob Driskell in Wilkinson Co. July 4, 1823. She states that in the 1850 Talladega Co. AL census Jacob Driskell's wife is named Eliphair, 57 years old, and a listing of the children: Elizabeth M., Martha B., and Simson. If there were children from her marriage to Joel Meadows, they might have left home by 1850. It would seem that Eliphair and Allie Meadows are probably the same person. I don't have any records of marriages of Lambert girls and Meadows men. I also am researching the Meadows family in Wilkinson Co. Ga. I would love to exchange information with you. I have not been able to connect the Joel Meadows in your question with the other Meadows family in Wilkinson, have you?
