I can't prove if their is more than one Joel Meadows but their are atleast three Elizabeths that married Meadows men.
Elizabeth Breeding (daughter of William S. Breeding and Susannah Tanner) married Thomas W. Meadows Oct 2, 1821 in Rockingham Co.

Sarah Elizabeth Breeden (daughter of Hiram F. Breeden and Sarah breeden) married John Paul Meadows on feb 2, 1905 in Greene co Va.
Sarah Elizabeth Breeden (daughter of Hiram F. Breeden and Sarah breeden) married John Paul Meadows on feb 2, 1905 in Greene co Va.You can add additional problems when you notice that the son of Thomas and Elizabeth married the daughter of Joel and Elizabeth so the Breeden/Breeding name gets more confussed.

In the census records all breeden's in Greene Co in 1850-1870's are spelled Breeding where the marriage records vary from Breeden to Breedon. In Rockingham co the Census records list the name as Breden, where the marriage records again use Breden, Breeden, Breeding and occasionally Breedon.
