Meador Family Genealogy Forum

I'm not sure what the problem is. Meador family researchers have established the identity of Thomas Huntley's wife as Zilphia S. (Sarah?) Meador. My ggg-grandmother was Sarah Jane Elizabeth Meador, Zilphia Meador's niece (Lewis Meador was Sarah Jane's father). My Meador line has always spelled the name "Meador," which comes from the English Meade, whereas the family name Meadows is derived from the English Meadow. But some descendants of Jason Meador & Elizabeth Stone (Zilphia and Lewis' parents) added an "s." I live in Crawford County, Arkansas, and there is a Meadors Inn located here owned by distant cousins of mine who also trace their lineage back to Jason Meador & Elizabeth Stone. Another line of ours started spelling the name Meadow & Meadows. So it can all become very confusing as you know.
Zilphia is one of the few in her family to marry outside the Edward Moberly line. All her siblings save one, Mariah Meador (some give her first name as Sarah - so which sister is Sarah and which one has a different name that starts with "s"?), married Moberly siblings. My gggg-grandfather, Lewis Meador, first married one of the Moberly siblings, Susannah. Following her death he married a much younger woman whose name is still unknown to researchers, but she is the one from whom I descend.
