Eleanor, thanks for the heads' up - but now I'm completely confused!
If you are referring to the John Meador referred to in Victor Paul Meador's book "Our Meador Families in Colonial America" who he referred to as "(3) John Meador" (son of Thomas, "Orphan" or "The Younger"), then there is another substantial problem. The latter Thomas was still underaged in 1655, so he could not have had a son born in 1637!
I cannot help but wonder if you have not found the will of John, son of Ambrose, who Victor Paul Meador said was born in March 1633 and died about 1683 "leaving a will which has not survived." (p. 16)
I can accept that two John Meadors might have been "compressed" into one, i.e., John m. Elizabeth White being the first generation, and John m. ?? being the second. What I'm really having trouble with is the birth date of the first being 1637.That seems to open a whole new can of worms.
Can you provide us more information on what you've found? And where you found this information?
Thanks
