Earliest Meadots
I wanted to share some information that I remember from a vacation that I took to Richmond, Virginia two years ago. (I feel like kicking myself for not copying the name of the book in which I remember the following information from)
Apparently there were three attempts to establish a colony at James Town. The first two attempts were a failure and the third time it was successful. On the second attempt, there was a Meador (I can't remember which spelling of the name was used) listed as one of the colonists. I don't recall any Meadors listed in the 3rd and successful attemt to establish James Town.
I remember thinking that this Meador was on the continent several years before Ambrose ever was. I also thought that this could have been an older relative of Ambrose due to the time line, which fit nicely. I wish I were in Richmond to get the name book that I saw this information in.
Perhaps this is an avenue of research to persue our Meadors back to England?
I thought you might find this as interesting as I did.
