I am looking for ancestors and descendants of Samuel Meade. According to information relayed through family, Samuel was born in England and came to US or possibly Canada in the mid to late 1800's. His birth/death dates, as well as his wife's name/dates are unknown. He was a Baptist minister and probably died while he pastored a church in Derry, PA. He fathered six children, five boys and one girl. Believe (1)Walter J. was the oldest, then daughter (2)Berta, followed by (3)Harry Edward, b. 06/25/1884 in Canada, (4)William Lawrence (my grandfather) b. 11/24/1886, possibly Canada, d. 04/25/1928 Holly Hill FL.,was first married to Ethel Louise Wilson, b.abt. 1883, d. 01/11/1915, second married to Bertha ??, abt.1916 in Derry, PA,she was b. 05/11/1891 d. 09/1981 in FL,(5)Harold C. b. 03/17/1890 d. 09/18/1895 and (6)Lawrence A. b. 09/11/1892 d.09/1971. All five sons were preacher/evangelists. Harry Edward and wife Mae Bond, resided in Winnsboro, SC for many years. One daughter, Vivian married a Coleman and lived in Columbia, SC. Some of the children settled in FL, CA and one was in Chicago at one time. Daughter Berta married Berton Fisher and their son Harry Fisher lived in Loris, SC at one time. Might have died there. Both of my grandparents died before I was born. My information has been gleaned from letters from my step-grandmother and letters/notes saved by my father, William Allen Meade, b. 04/28/1906, Brockville, Leeds County, Ontario Canada, d. 11/17/1974, Columbia, SC.
After his and my step-grandmother's deaths, I lost contact with his surviving siblings living in FL at that time. I would like to find out if any of them are still living and find the where abouts of their children.
