Thanks for the links!
I was speaking with my great-aunt two days ago and was asking her some questions about the Bergen Co. MEAD/MEADE. She will be 90 next month and her mind is sharp as a pin. I had gone to a funeral home website and had found a loss relative that still lives in the area.
She had mentioned that the name was originally spelled MEED, which would make sense why MEET was taken when the King told them they had to have a surname. I added that in my notes for Jan/John MEET/MEAD while I was correcting the tree. He’s the once b. abt. 1600 in Essex Co. England.
As I was doing a quick look see through my file I notice I have errors…spouses hooked up to wrong spouses, need to update each person’s notes, etc. So once I correct my tree, I’ll send you a new copy.
