Thanks for that information! John B. also had another son, John Francis, b. 1861 d. 1947 who was a brother to Charles Carpenter,
and they helped found the ranching town New England, North Dakota along with their father. Good friends of Teddy Roosevelt.

Any clues to what became of John B.'s brother Francis? My grandmother always said that her Grandfather J. B. could never find him.
