WILL OF
BARTLETT MITCHAM
STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
In the name of God Amen,
I Bartlett Mitcham of the District of York & State of South Carolina, being in a low state of health; &, knowing that it is once appointed for all men to die; being fully possessed of all the rationality & reason that it hath pleased Almighty God in mercy to bestow on Me doth make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner & form as follows, revoking all others but this, & this only.- -
First. I desire my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my beloved wife.
Secondly, I desire for all lawful debts to be paid by my beloved wife hereafter appointed Executrix.
Thirdly. I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy Meacham, all the property I may die possessed of:Vis. Lands, Negroes, Horses, Cows, Hogs, House-hold & Kitchen furniture of every kind, Corn & Fodder; Together with all Monies, Debts & Chattles of every kind; to have and to hold forever.
Fourthly & lastly, I appoint my beloved wife, Nancy Meacham, my sold[sic] Executrix of this my last Will and Testament; Whereunto I have set my hand & seal this 6th Day of August in the Year of
