Barbara,
Thank you so much for all this information.I have been aware of William F. Meacham's work since he put it on Genforum.I see that it is now all on Ancestry who owns Genforum.
Several years ago, I noted that William Meacham who died in 1808 had been proved to DAR as a PATRIOT.Did not mean he fought, but that he gave some type of supplies.Something to support the American Cause.I have a copy of Mr. Meacham's book and got the last copy from his wife.It was a great work in my opinion, because it supplied people with much needed information.I know he had his opinion and that of other genealogist, but still it had lots of valuable information. My ancestors are listed in the Marvick Meacham's done by Ida Meacham Strobridge. My grandfather was in the book, but with his first family. My father was his youngest son.
I really would like to know others who are descendants of Joseph and John are members. It would be great to correspond with them.Your information is great and I do appreciate your giving me these facts.
Has anyone done DNA on the Meacham's of that Book that you are aware?I plan to have one of my nephews or a cousin have his done.My two brothers are deceased, but had 5 sons.
I have the DAR Patriot Index, three volumes, done by National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.Linda Tinker Watkins was President General. These were done by Gateway Press, Inc. Baltimore, MD 2003.I believe the information of William Meacham, Sr. was done in 2008.I believe Joseph and John are both shown in these books.
Thanks again!!!
