Morrison Meacham was my great-great grandfather. He appears in the 1850 census for Sangamon Co., IL, with his mother, Mary, and five younger siblings. Morrison was 18 in 1850, b. NY. One sister born NY 1839, then another b. in IL in 1842. Last sibling (Sarah, later married Charles Russell) b. IL 1848. No father listed. May have died 1847-1850. Am searching for him. In 1854, Morrison married Malisa Bacon, b. 1836, Ohio. Can't find them in 1860 census, but in 1870 they're in Menard Co., IL, with five chidren -- Anna America, Joseph Nathan (my ggf), Mary, "Joshaway" (Thomas Joshua) and "Not Named" (Alice). Morrison is in Springfield, IL, in 1880 census, listed as Single, while Malisa is living with d. Mary and listed as Widowed. Don't know what happened. Malisa died in 1924. Can't trace Morrison after 1880. Help appreciated, and will share infor and documents.
