Jeremiah Meacham in East Hampton, Long Island 1653-1668
Hi, here's some records of Jeremiah Meacham (the first) which I thought other researchers would find as interesting as I did.One record (in 1666) also mentions his son Jeremiah Meacham junior.
Jeremiah Meacham (the first), a weaver, fuller, and clothier by occupation, was born 6 March 1613/1614 in England. He and family lived at Southold, Long Island in 1650, then East Hampton from 1653 until 1666, when he moved (or returned) to Salem, Mass. The deeds showing the sale of his East Hampton property in 1668 indicate that he was no longer a resident. He died 11 November 1695 at Salem, Mass.
