Have you researched the History of Gorman? From info I found there plus census of Buxton from 1790-1830 --Elijah Davis is included in 1810 as bet.16-25--I've tried to follow up on any head of household who MIGHT have been there in 1824 and who could have been the father of David Davis. I'll take another look at Elijah. For some reason I wrote a note after his census listing that says "David, Prince". Was he related to Prince Davis of Gorman?

Do you know where Elijah was in 1850? Unfortunately for me, David Davis married before the census of 1850, so the first time he shows up in a census is with a wife and new baby.

What is your tie to Elijah and/or Davis family in Gorman?
Would love to compare notes, which might be easier via email.Feel free to write me at, or here if you prefer.
