20 yrs searching and still no Davis Fam. Connection

Trying to make a connection to a Davis family for my David Davis b. 1824 in Buxton --my continuing brick wall for almost 20 years. Census reports say his parents b. in ME. Anyone have Davis parents who are missing a child?

David married Mary Jaquith of Brighton (Cambridge)in 1849 and before 1857 they moved to Minnesota. They had 3 daughters: Helen Francis (1850), Estella McCloud(1857), and Maud Douglas (1860). Could the girls' middle names be significant?

Any help, clues or suggestions most welcomed. I'm an experienced researcher, but I'm starting to worry that I'll run out of time before finding David's parents, siblings, etc.

Joanne
