Do any of the York County Probate Abstract volumes contain a will for Joseph Coburn of York, born 1714, first wife Hepzibah (Stone), second wife Esther (Rawlins)? According to a Coburn genealogy, his children by Hepzibah were Sarah and Ebenezer, his children by Esther were Rawlins, Joseph and Esther. The two daughters, Sarah and Esther, are both identified in the genealogy as marrying James Ridgway (Sarah in 1775, Esther in 1779) in Boston.
A James Ridgway apparently apprenticed to John Coburn, Joseph's brother, a Boston silversmith, and this probably explains how Sarah and Esther met James, especially if Joseph died while they were young and the were sent to live with John.
