I found this on the Maine Archives site of marriages :

GOLDSMITH, MARY SOMERSWORTH, NH --JOY, JOSEPH E.,S BERWICK, ME
       date of marriage 03-18-1912

which would imply that your Etta died between 15th of April 1910(date of census) and 18th of Mar 1912when he remarried.
