I am trying to find birth record for:
Anne Eliza Norwood, born August or September 1846 in Biddeford, ME and Abby Norwood, born 1847, Biddeford, ME

I am also trying to find marriage record for:
Jonathan Norwood and Miriam Benson - married May 1843.

I don't know if this is possible but I believe Jonathan and Miriam were divorced shortly after the birth of their daughters - would that info be available anywhere.

Looking for info on Jonathan Norwood and Miriam Benson. I believe Jonathan was the son of Jonathan Norwood and Mary Polly Nutter - born June 8, 1815 in Mt. Desert, ME. Miriam Benson was the daughter of Thomas Benson and Miriam Rogers. She was born March 20, 1823. According to the Maine Marriage Index, a Jona Norwood and Miriam Benson - both of Biddeford- were married May 2, 1843. I know that Jonathan and Miriam had two daughters: Anne Eliza, born Aug. 26, 1846 in Biddeford, and Abby born 1847 in Biddeford. After 1847 I can not find any information relating to this family.

Jonathan later left Miriam and married Margaret Gamage in South Bristol, ME where I believe he lived the rest of his life. I do not know if Jonathan and Miriam were divorced and wouldn't even begin to know where to look for that information. Miriam and Anne Eliza (sometimes called Libbey Jane), show up in 1870 in South Hadley, MA. Anne Eliza married there in 1869, Abby died there in 1865 and is buried there, Miriam died there in 1871 and is buried there. Miriam's death record lists her spouse as Jonathan - even though he was married to Margaret Gamage and living in South Bristol with Margaret and a daughter Lucinda at the time. I know that the Jonathan in South Bristol was the father of Anne Eliza and Abby because a descendant of Jonathan and Margaret's daughter remembers the half-sisters (Anne Eliza and Lucinda) visiting each other.

I am looking for some kind of knowledge of Jonathan and Miriam's existence in Biddeford from the time of their marriage, through the birth of their daughters. Also, what happened to Miriam, Anne Eliza and Abby from the time of Abby's birth until they show up in South Hadley, MA.

Any help, clues, ideas, input, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
