Hello again Kathleen

I would be interested how Madison was incorporated. One town I know of did a census very similiar to the kind we are familiar with-but it was at a later date. The incorporation papers of another town was apparently signed only by lawyers.

I think Robbinston was a plantation-which under the law at the time could function as a town-thus "a vote of the citizens" was all that was needed.
