I am working with Arlene Schaefer of Unity, Maine. She has looked into the vital records for Unity, Maine for the birthdate of George Washington Myrick. Everybody, meaning the Pedigree Resource File, Disc #5, Ancestry.com, Google, Dennis Walker Family site, and many others in my 15 years of searching, say he was born in Unity, Maine, August 22, 1818. So far the vital records can't prove that. It shows he married Polly W. Adams at her father's house in Unity on May 11, 1843. They show in the 1850 and 1860 Federal census. I know he moved to Illinois in 1864. Just can't figure out where his birthdate is good and in the area of Unity, Waldo Co., Maine. Sure could use some help. He's my great-great grandfather and need this info for the Mayflower Society..thanks for any reply
