I know the lady who has done so much for the area and received so little (really nothing) for her efforts. Picton does nothing for the people who write for them, they do not even donate to the historical societies of the areas for the people who write for them. I was totally shocked by this news and refuse to buy from them because of it. Understand the people who write these facts do all the digging, set everything up and help us all only to get the information out there for us yet they receive nothing for it except our thanks sometimes. I once asked an archiver at a labara after her digging up information for me what I could do to repay her for her time, she wanted nothing but a small donation to the labara, what is so hard about asking if they would like a donation to a society, labara or even paying their postage to these selfless people who help us so much? Why are we all so thoughtless to the people who are so thoughtful and helpful, often they do not even get a "Thank you!" With the cut backs and no help from towns or government most of us can do a little and say "Thank you!"
