Mary was born March 9, 1838. On the 1850 federal census
there was a Mary E living with parents, Nathaniel and Azulah
and son Levi B 22, Larry 19, Mariah 17, Allen 14, Mary E 12,Edward 8, and Calista 6.
Okay this looks like it could be my family. But in Mary's
obituary it said that when she was about 14 her family started moving west. Don't know where they went. But she
met and married William Maher (or Brennan) and they were living in the state of Iowa where their first child was born a son, John William Maher born April, 1862. Was
Nathaniel and family still on the census for 1860? Any help
would be greatly appreciated. The familywasin WI 1864, IL
1869 and 1870 william filed for a homestead in Miller County, Missouri. They raised their family there. William died 1903 and Mary died 1924.

Thanks for any help that comes my way

Betty Matteson Maher
